    Biography :

    Miss Jan Batte, Janice Brown and Janie Traylor, also known as "Three J's"  have been a singing group since they were in the fifth grade in Amite ,La. In 1961, The Three J's recorded "Graduation 1961" and "Graduation Day" released by Big Bend Record Company. The lyrics and muslc were composed by the girls and they are accompanied on the record by The Rovals, an orchestral group touring the entertainment circuit in this area. They have participated in many school affairs, 4-H programs and won in local talent contests. The J's were special guests at the Hammond Beauty Contest and they are very popular with the Disc Jockey Bill Jones of Brookhaven, Miss.

    The Three Jays signed the contract with Montel Records

    In March, 1962, The “Three J's. signed a four-year contract with the Montel Recording Company, Baton Rouge, La. on their new records, “Graduation of 1962" and " Pay Your Bills.” later this year, The Three J's, journeyed to Houston where they appeared on Larry Kayne's show on KTRK T-V.  The gitls sang with Al Michael and the Capers, backing Michael up in their latest recording “Twist Every Which A Kind A Way” during the program. The girls also made appearences at the Teen Canteen in Pasadena, at Mt. Carmel High School's Valentine Dance and concluded at Jimmie Merrutes Twist Club.
