Vocal and instrumental group fronted by Dewell Everette in early sixties with Sammy Everette, Sonny Bates and Larry Mason. The group played rock-n-roll and R&B essentially. During the latter stages of 1961 and on into 1962, The Dual-Tones made a lot of appearances at Record Hops and Dances and their popularity was gaining momentum all through in the Northwest Georgia and Chattanooga area. Dewell Everette wrote two songs, “One More Kiss” and “I Left Her Crying” that he will record with his group in Reavis Recording Studio in Nashville. The single will be released on Do-Ra-Me in early 1962.
Murray Nash (Do-Ra-Me )Do-Ra-Me was launched in 1959 by Murray Nash. In early 1960, Nash bought Reavis Recording Studio in Nashville from Joe Reavis and established his "Recording of Nashville" studio there, which had been in the Cumberland Lodge Building from 1955 on. A lot of the recordings on Do-Ra-Me were recorded at Sound of Nashville. Despite their preference for rock and roll, “One More Kiss” is a great doo wop and “I Left Her Crying” a gentle stroll.
Dewell Everette, Sammy Everette, Larry Mason and Sonny BatesLarry Mason (Drums) has traveled and performed with Johnny Cash, Tammy Wynette, Michael Landon, Waylon Jennings, Tom T. Hall, Jenny C. Riley, Grandpa Jones, Justin Tubb, Lynn Anderson, Jack Green, Dottie West at the Ernest Tubb Record Bar in Nashville, Tenn., and for the Bob Brandy Show for numerous years, just to name a few.
