    Biography :

    From Norwich, The group is composed by Bruce Beadle, Antoinette Fama, Linda Mcelntvre and Sandra Whitney . Known as Bruce & the Charms, the quartet cut two song released on Robin label in March 1964 . The three girls formed a trio In 1962 and was organized only as entertainment and not as a permanent Vocal group. A short time later they agreed to sing at a western-style dinner being held by teachers. Bruce Beadle agreed to play the guitar for them. After that, they continued singing, occasionally with Bruce.

    The foursome continued making local appearances, and a day, George Echentile, summer recreation director for the city invites the group to perform at a hootenanny arranged by him as part of the summer program. They needed a name. They chose ‘the Charms.” To promote the hootenanny they tape-recorded "Cruel War," which Was aired on the local radio station, WCHN. After hearing the tape, fans suggested they make an actual recording.  The group was sponsored for a recording session, they needed a second song. The four decided on the other one, “How Can a Boy Cry Like This,” a composition written by Bruce. The group took a new name, “Bruce and the Charms.”
