Biography :
Joe Lucas, 18. of Gary, a 1958 graduate of Biship Noll, got the idea of forming a musical group, and “The Unknowns” started out as a six-member aggregation by appearing on the program for Noll's 1957 Christmas party. Joe Lucas, working at Inland Steel Co, Indiana Harbor is the baritone singer. Other vocalists are John Clune, 18-year-old Noll senior from Gary ( first tenor); Al Burkett, 17, Noll senior, East Chicago (bass) and Bob Gawlikowski, 17. Noll senior, Pl, Hammond, (Second Tenor).
From left :Joe Lucas, Al Burkett, Stan Lopeika, John Clune and Bob GawlikowskiLopeika wrote the music of "Crazy Daisy" and Lucas provided the lyrics. The Unknowns had it recorded, with “Dearest Darling” on the flip side, and it was released in November 1958. With "Crazy Daisy" The group have an appearance on a Chicago rock ‘n' roll television program.
