Biography :
Female trio from Fort Wayne,Indiana first know as The Petticoats and consisted of Linda Hirt, Karen Lemasters and Julie wilson. The Deb-Tones, trio of young thrushes took top honors in the Westinghouse Broadcasting Company's Talent Search. Group won an RCA Victor recording contract and will appear with Patti Page on " The Big Record" over CBS-TV May 7.

The contest was carried out by five Westhinghouse stations— WBZ, Boston; KDKA, Pittsburgh; KYW, Cleveland; KEX, Portland, Ore., and WOWO, Fort Wavne. Deejays attached to each of the foregoing stations conducted eliminations, each station presenting its local winner to participate in the finals which were held Friday (18) at the Hotel New Yorker.
Deb-Tones were sponsored by deejay Mary Hunter, of WOWO. The interludes, group which won the WBZ, Boston, competition, impressed the judges greatly and will also be recorded by Victor. Group was sponsored by station's John Bassett.
Others in the finals were the Three Teens, sponsored bv Barney Keep, KEX, Portland; The Shadows, sponsored bv Wes Hopkins, KYW, Cleveland, 'and The Phaetons, sponsored by Art Pallen, KDKA, Pittsburgh. the "Deb-Tones" have had three singles for RCA Victor, toured outside the United States with the Indiana Belles of Indiana University, and appeared on numerous television shows.
