Vocal group whose lead singer Vincent DeMaria and some other members come from Canton, Ohio. The Magnets consisted of Vincent DeMaria (Lead), Charles Errante (Baritone), Charles DiBella (Bass, later with the Five Discs), Sal Grippi (Second Tenor) and unfortunately the name of the first tenor has been forgotten. The Magnets were managed by Stephen Guido and Kenneth Weber who gets them a recording contract at RCA Records, subsidiary of RCA, created in 1929 by General Electric, RCA Records is the result of the acquisition of record labels Victor and Bluebird. In 1958, RCA released "When The School Belll Rings" and "Don't Tarry Little Mary".
Seven years later, subsidiary RCA label Groove Records released two more sides of The Magnets. Groove Records was founded by Billboard reporter Bob Rolontz in 1953 as a rhythm and blues label. The label tried hard to break into the R&B market. Two sides written by manager's Stephen Guido and Kenneth Weber. "You Just Say The Word" and "Surprise" were probably recorded in the early 1960s.
